The SGUnited Skills Programme for companies was initially introduced by the Singapore government to help jobseekers. It is not easy to stay market competent with old skills and you need upskilling. During the recent pandemic, people with old domain knowledge are losing jobs. There is nothing to worry about as you have experienced mentors and programme participating companies to help you.

Technologies
are evolving and PMETs need to stay with the pace if they need better
opportunities. On the other hand, companies also ask for upskilled
professionals who can help in their businesses. The unemployment rate is high
because of the skills gap. People are arguing over tight market scenario, but
they are not willing to know the reason. What can help them is joining the SGUS
Programme under SP PACE Academy?
How does SP PACE Academy help?
During the
SGUS journey, more and more employers/hosting companies are joining hands with
Singapore Polytechnic (SP) PACE Academy. Candidates who are taking upskilling
courses can complete their primary trainings and move to the next level known
as the Practicum. The duration of this training with participating companies
goes on for one (1) to three (3) months.
The motive
behind this Practicum session is to further enhance domain skills in trainees.
The companies are registered based on the six (6) emerging sectors namely InfoComm
Media, Built Environment, Social Service, Manufacturing, Sea Transport and
Cross-sectoral Emerging Skills.
Companies
participate to help the candidates get the flair of working for their
organisations. They let the trainees work under supervision and understand
every norms and regulation. The weekly duration for the trainees stays 44
hours. Companies might need a day more for a weekly task to be completed. In
case of any extra day, an alternate day leave or extra payment is allotted.
You can
onboard any individual as your permanent employee during the training or just
after the practicum completes. There is no regret of not getting the right
employees when you train them and assess their skills by yourself.
SGUS Programme Attachment & Job Placement is a door to a batch of talented
people all in one place. Your recruitment stays easy during the ongoing
pandemic, and you don’t have to worry about the skills gap you were seeing for
long.
